May 17, 2008 marks both the close of the first year in business for the South End's uber dining and live music hotspot "The Beehive", as well as the official opening of "The BEEch" - The Beehive's unique take on outdoor dining in Boston. "We wanted to do something that was unique, fresh and offered something completely different to the outdoor dining experience in Boston," said Jack Bardy Co-owner of The Beehive.
When the "BEEch" - the Beehive's 80 seat out door dining addition officially opens on Saturday May 17 at 10:30AM on the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza - it will focus on an "urban picnic theme" in which diners will be seated and handed a menu of freshly prepared casual gourmet items to choose from. Once customers have selected their items, the wait staff will return with these culinary treasures in packages and jars along with fresh bread tucked in picnic baskets to share.

A full bar menu will be offered along with pitchers of Sangria, Margaritas and Spiked Ice-T, and no reservations are accepted.so just like the real beach you'll have to find a spot on your own!
